What You Can Expect
Our work together starts with a free 15-minute consultation call.
The first therapy session consists of several personal questions that help me get a broad picture of who you are. My aim is to make the process comfortable and conversational.
We will discuss what you most want to get from therapy, and we will revisit this as needed to make sure our work is focused and effective. I use symptom assessment tools that help us more objectively see progress. Sessions typically occur weekly or every other week, and I aim for us to meet at a consistent day and time if possible.
I am trained in and pull from many different therapy modalities. These include cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, taking values-based action, and exposure to avoided emotions and situations. Therapy protocols are often referenced with acronyms like CBT, CPT, DBT, ACT, or ERP, but our work together is much more than a set of exercises or concepts. The conversation and connection that occur in our sessions are just as important as the specific techniques I use or recommend.
